The main constituents are essential oils, with linalyl acetate as the chief component.
Used for mild forms of insomnia, stress, and nervousness.
A shortly stalked flower, tubular calyx. The corolla is blue with a two-lobed lip. Under the magnifying glass one can observe didynamous (two long and two short) stamens and ovoid anthers.
The drug is listed in the pharmacopoeia.
In pulverized drug under the microscope we can see:
Pollen grains with six germ pores
Branched covering trichomes
Epidermis with oxalate crystals
Glandular trichomes with a nodular stalk and a spherical head attached via an intermediate cell
